Happy Halloween Shadow Box – FREE CUT FILE!
Halloween is just around the corner and I am gifting you all this free cut file! What better way to mark the occasion than by creating this super unique Halloween frame that fits so well in a shadow box.
Although it is designed to sit in a shadow box, instead of using the foam spacers, you could glue it all together and add it to your scrapbook and enjoy it for years to come.
Today, I’m giving you the cut files for this Halloween frame, sized to 8×8 inches.
What to do after you download the design:
Upload each part into Design Space (each part is numbered as to which layer it will be) and start cutting. Grab a pic of your liking and just like that you have the cutest project ever!
If you enjoy this free cut file, just wait, I have some other ones on the way that will have you ready for gifting this holiday season.
Sizing info
Download your link now! These are all sized to 8×8 inches. For my 8×8 frame I did have to size it down to 7.5×7.5 inches. All frames, of course, are different. I would highly suggest cutting one part out before cutting all pieces (like me haha).

Here’s my video on another version I did, this will help you see how I cut the cardstock as well.
Some Tips & Tricks!
Now for the most asked question, how in the world did I cut the Happy Halloween portion – there are a number of variables in my opinion:
- A mat that is sticky but not overly sticky (you want the cardstock to stick to your mat and you should be able to pick it up without it falling off). If you would like to see what I mean, check out my video linked above;
- A braying tool helps tremendously, ensure you bray your material to your mat to be sure it’s stuck;
- Your blade should be sharp. I’ve been using my blade since I got my maker a few months back so it’s not brand new but it’s pretty sharp still;
- Lastly, for this part of the frame I used the setting Cardstock for Intricate Cuts. It will do two passes. test it out on some scrap cardstock to see how your machine will do.
I hope these tips and tricks help you out, leave me a comment on what you think of this project.
